Here are some tips for keeping your Double Dog Run in good working order this winter: #1:  Check your leashes for cracks or kinks.   The cold weather can make almost anything brittle enough to crack;  that includes any vinyl coated leashes.  Additionally, the cold weather can lead to kinking in the lines if it gets caught around a small branch that fell in the yard from the last storm.  It is important to keep your leashes crack-free and kink-free. Need new leashes for your system?   Get new ones here! #2:  Ensure the swivels on the leashes are working properly.  Corrosion and many other things can cause the clasps or clips on the leases to become hard to use.  Ensure that the clasps are working properly and closing completely before letting your dog go off to play.  Using WD-40 or any other type of lubricant can loosen the swivels and clasps up; as well as maintain them throughout the winter. #3:  Check your hardware here and there

Hate the clips  This is a good, strong system and will not tangle if there are no obstacles, like trees, on the ground. I use mine tied to a column, and that's what I planned when I ordered it. I took off a s tar because the clips that come with it, to attach to the dog collar, are incredibly hard to use. They are massive, which is good, but have a different design that I've never seen before. One hand has to hold the C shape part of the clip, with another hand *pull* out a hard piece and with a 3rd hand (!) insert the ring of the collar. I've never had a dog undo or come out of a regular clip or dog leash clip, so I don;t know why this design is needed. The Double Dog Run System is a great tool.   All you need is a screw driver and the kit.  Hook the dogs up, and keep an eye on the leashes. The dogs can run in and out of the water. However, ensure the leashes do not get tangles on something under the water.  Supervision is required!
